Depression is a dark state

Depression is giving me lots of depression, so first let's break it and understand in an easy way what Depression is- “getting more burden and pressure on the brain which retaliates people to the extent of negativity”. When I started writing this blog I did lots of research, but during research, I found at many places Depression is recognized as a mental state. According to the medical field maybe this kind of state exists but in our point of view it is just a DARK state, where a person is under the darkness of negativity and lots of thoughts. Depression is an important contributor to the global burden disease that affects people all over the world. According to The World Health Organisation, some key facts are there- 

  • Depression is a common mental disorder. 

  • Globally, more than 264 million people of all ages suffer from depression.

  • Depression gives a major contributor to the overall global burden of disease.

  • More women are affected by depression than men.

  • Depression can lead to suicide.

Depression is spreading its reach at every age group. So let’s discuss in  brief the factors associated with depression. 

  • Social Factor- This is the most important factor because everyone lives in social life. We meet every day with nearby people. The human brain can get easily attracted and distracted by the activities. Social class, Religion, wealth status, Education, Loss of your loved one, a lack of intimacy with spouse/ cohabitant /boyfriend/girlfriend increased the risk of depression.


  • Employment Factors- Some studies revealed that a higher risk of anxiety and depression is for blue-collar workers. To get a good job you need to study hard and after completing education and getting a job, the person is not happy. There are lots of reasons behind this sometimes not getting a salary on time, not getting a sufficient amount in return for work done, getting bullied by the other co-workers, lots of pressure of performance, fear of getting fired, molested by other co-workers and so many. Even you can’t imagine how the corporate world or any other organization treats each other. They make fun of each other that’s great for a healthy work environment but sometimes limits get crossed and a person gets feeling isolated from others and tries to hide from others. 


  • Failure of love- Many youth nowadays easily get into love and after rejection get depressed and commit various evasion acts. Acid attack, drink poison, hanging, murder and so on kind of activities they performed. 


  • Teasing – Teasing is in all ways it’s not good. People do not understand what a person goes through after teasing someone. No-one is perfect but not looking at our faults people nowadays are targeted easy-going people who get affected easily. The harassment gets high and the person takes wicked action.

Symptoms of Depression

There's always confusion between sadness and depression. Both are similar but have a thin line that differentiates both. There are a few Symptoms discussed below where you can understand that you are depressed or not :-

  • When you realize no one can help me, no-one surrounds me, hopeless outlook, feeling worthless.

  • Lacking attentiveness, when you lose interest in your favorite work getting irritated.

  • When you get a different type of feeling like Anxiety, increase heartbeat suddenly, trembling, rapid breathing, feeling nervous.

  • Getting angry, feeling irritated easily in a very short time, and then the notion of guilt and blaming yourself.

  • Starting to think too negatively in every aspect.

  • Getting exhausted and changing patterns of eating and sleeping.

  • Getting problems breathing sometimes.

If anybody is feeling or seeing someone who has these kinds of indications definitely they need help. Depression is a dark state where everything looks dark. The results of depression are bigger than what we can imagine. Maybe some of them can relate to this blog, I am hoping this blog helps to understand depression. Nowadays we are always busy with our life. Sometimes we feel if someone is on top doing great but maybe inside him/her lonely. We all are living in a fake virtual environment. Understand your life is important and precious. We can understand it’s worse to come out or walk-in a dark path but we can try to enlighten ourselves to defeat depression.

 If you find someone who is dealing with these symptoms, try to understand their situation and don't be judgmental about anybody. Avoid blaming them instead of trying to communicate with them, cheer them, and try to understand their issue. Do not let them be alone because once they feel lonely or alienated they may try to take a misstep. I hope this pressure will not suffer anybody. One most important thing is- come out and talk freely about what you are feeling and about your anxiety and loneliness, do consult and don't hesitate. No need to think what others will say or think about you. Only we can heal and deal with depression is through LOVE & CARE mixed with self confidence and will power.
